A little bit of black goes a long way

Although I am forever courting the idea of a very soft and neutral color palette, like any addict, I fall right back into my old black habit.  I will go ahead and admit that I am slightly obsessed with the feeling of luxury I get from the color black.  Some may think I even dress as if I'm in morning, but I love it!  Black is a very rich color and no matter if I'm in vintage Chanel or last season Target, as long as it's black, I feel like I can conquer any situation!
The same holds true for me in decor.  These are a few of my favorite rooms which remind me yet again, why I love black.

Decorating with Driftwood

Nothing says "I love you," like finding beautiful brown packages all tied up with natural jute twine on your front porch. I came home to this delightful surprise last week. (Oh, and it gets even better...) I quickly tore into the packages to find the most amazing collection of driftwood I've ever laid eyes on!!!!  A very dear friend of mine, Amy Kitchen, just moved to Tennessee and was visiting Charleston over the weekend for the PGA Championship.  She brightened my entire month by sharing the fruits of her labor with me!

Amy is currently renovating her new home and I am dying to see her progress...  She also knows me very well, so she knows I am obsessed with anything I can buy, make or display with driftwood.  Thank you soooo much Amy, I am forever grateful and I miss you tremendously.

These are a few of my inspirations for the driftwood...

I have tons of ideas to get me started so stay tuned for pictures of my driftwood creation to come.  Right now I am simply enjoying the look of this the huge basket flanking my fireplace... Sip :)
